HOUSING SERVICES

Since 1995, CAA has operated the Roosevelt Townhouse Apartments in Springfield Township.  The eight-unit complex serves as a temporary home (average stay of 2 years) for individuals and families who are transitioning from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

Residents participate in a sixteen week training program where they receive counseling on how to eliminate debt, how to utilize available resources, and how to develop a more positive outlook on life.  Residents also receive assistance through CAA’s many other programs, including:

  • Obtaining basic necessities such as clothing, food, and furniture through our Supportive Services program;
  • Receiving job readiness training, job referrals and placement, career counseling, job retention coaching, adult literacy classes, GED services, and computer training through our Workforce Development program;
  • Enrolling preschool age children in Head Start;
  • Introducing fathers to our Fatherhood Initiative and couples to our Health Marriages/Healthy Families workshops; and
  • Helping any young adults in the family become involved in our Youth Services programs.

Residents of Roosevelt Townhouse Apartments have been able to…

  • Secure employment and permanent housing;
  • Continue their education;
  • Earn a four year or two year degree; and
  • Purchase a home.
